Despite the poor Barn Owl breeding season locally, 30 unique adult Barn Owls were recorded for the BTO RAS project (April to October).
Over half (16) of these were detected solely by means of their PIT tag reads, underlining the important contribution this makes to monitoring survival of the adult population.
